Foyer display: Photographs by Keiron Pierce

St Martin-in-the-Fields is home to several commissions and permanent installations by contemporary artists. We also have an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions, as well as a group of artists and craftspeople from the St Martin’s community who show artwork and organise art projects on a temporary basis.

One of the initiatives from this group is a changing display of work by the group members. Each month a different member of the group will show an example of their work, so, if you are able, do return to see the changing display.

This month we are showing flower, landscape, and wildlife photographs by Keiron Pearce. Keiron says the Orthodox prayer for the environment (as edited by Martin Haigh) sums up his feelings on the environment nicely: May we discover how to love all God’s creation, / The whole of it, every grain of sand, / Love every leaf, every ray of God’s light, / Love the animals and the plants, / Love everything. / If we love everything, / We will perceive / The divine mystery in all things. / And once we have perceived it, / We will begin to comprehend it more and more every day, / And will come at last to love the whole world, / With an abiding universal love, / Love every living thing / As God does, / And therefore do not trouble them, / Torture or deprive them of their joy / So we do not go against God’s intent.
