Team Rector of the Billericay & Little Burstead Team Ministry


Check out this exciting opportunity to develop, innovate and co-ordinate a parish wide Team ministry in the vibrant town of Billericay which has easy access to both London and the countryside.

The role of Team Rector for The Billericay and Little Burstead Team Ministry is an exciting opportunity to work with four Churches and one Chapel of Ease. You would be leading and working alongside experienced and committed Clergy, Licensed Lay Ministers, Church Wardens and laity.

In recent years the Team Churches have developed ways of working together allowing friendships and fellowship to grow. We are looking for the right person who will enable this to continue, as well as encouraging an ever-deepening relationship with Christ, and equipping everyone to share the Good News of the Gospel.

We are seeking someone to lead the team who:
  • has an evangelical conviction and has a passion for growing churches
  • will enjoy developing, innovating and co-ordinating a parish wide ministry
  • values working alongside and developing lay people as part of an effective team

HeartEdge Regional Coordinator vacancy


HeartEdge Regional Coordinator, The Church of the Ascension, Hulme, Manchester 
£ 27,200 per annum 4 days per week

HeartEdge is a movement for renewal within the Church which supports churches in blending their mission around four key areas: Congregation, Commerce, Culture and Compassion. It provides opportunity for churches to learn from each other, celebrate success and plan for the future. “At the heart. On the edge” is the vision statement developed by the congregation of St Martin’s.

You will work with the HeartEdge Hub church at The Ascension in Manchester, Diocese of Manchester and HeartEdge churches and organisations in the North West to build resource, grow membership and develop the network as a dynamic movement for change. You will organise resources and events to grow an ecumenical network of churches and organisations across the North West, discovering together what it means to be both “at the heart and on the edge.”

HeartEdge and Sheppard Scholars


St Martin-in-the-Fields is looking for our very first Sheppard Scholar.

Sheppard Scholars is a new Pastoral Assistant scheme at HeartEdge hub churches to support new and refreshed mission and ministry projects. Sheppard Scholars is a year long programme of theological study combined with practical pastoral work.

The role offers not only breadth of experience but also a range of responsibilities from participation and involvement to roles of leadership. The aim is to give a wide experience of ministry at the heart of the life of this church and at the same time to draw on the Pastoral Assistant’s own gifts and faith at a time of growth in the life of St Martin’s and HeartEdge. The role will involve liaising with other Sheppard Scholars, HeartEdge hubs and members.

The Cathedral Innovation Centre, one of several organisations with which Sophia Hubs are liaising, has recently launched its Faith In Enterprise Awards, a £275,000 national initiative of the Cathedral Innovation Centre open to entrepreneurs aged 18 to 30 of all communities. The Faith In Enterprise award funds are open to all but are especially aimed to encourage local religious leaders to identify fresh entrepreneurial talent in their towns and cities; at supporting young entrepreneurs to emerge from the major faith communities; as an opportunity for young entrepreneurs from diverse communities to collaborate, and as a means to unlock the talents, time and resources of people of faith to support growth, launch firms and establish business and social ventures in tough economic times.
