Update: Sophia Hub Seven Kings

'Why not join in the Timebank skills swap this Saturday 6th June, 2 - 4.30pm. There's a lot on offer - see the flyer - and its best to book but you could just turn up.

Another Timebank offer is the first Redbridge Health Farm day on Weds 17th June. Read here for info.

Enterprise club this Tuesday at 12.45pm is more work on business canvasses with Aidan. A fab way to manage your start-up on one page. Info here.

Thanks so much to Liam of GLE for the info on loans, credit ratings etc. Tried to capture as much as I could here.

We want to help build collaborations within Redbridge and also to help get Redbridge tenders for Redbridge folk. Read here about a meeting this week re: a young people tender.

And the Seven Kings pop up market is now looking for small stall holders. This is an exciting opportunity to bring more trading opportunities - don't miss out! Saturday 13 June. Info here.

Also another opportunity at Forest Farm Peace Garden in Hainault.

Best wishes,

'Enterprise club on Tuesday (tomorrow) is with Aidan and it's another session on the business canvas model which we think is extremely useful for start-ups as its flexible, simple and on one page. Please come, info here.

The 5th Sophia Course had a great first session last week, a full house, read an update here.

The Timebank skills swap last week was a success and another useful opportunity for start-ups and businesses plus community spirit. Pics and video here.

Announcing a brand new Redbridge start-up - Sam the cartoonist - and special offer to Sophia contacts! Read here

Thanks to Muhammad for the marketing session last week. For info click here. Powerpoint presentation available.

Advance notice - the enterprise club speaker (Tues 17 March) next week is Debbie Skeete of Early Years Play. She has a wide range of business knowledge and is part of many local networks.

Best wishes,

Sophia Hub update

Ros Southern writes:

"This is the last email of the year and thanks to you all for such a fascinating and productive 2014. The community development 'asset-based' approach has worked wonders in building such a strong community network of support for and between start-ups in the Borough.

Just in case you've forgotten - Sophia is the goddess of wisdom and our way of working is to find the wisdom in the community and faith communities and then harness it. Simple!

Final bits are:

• No enterprise club this week.
• The Tuesday lunchtime enterprise club on 30th December 12.45-2.15 is on the business canvas model which we think is the best one for start-ups to use. Click to find out about it here. Bring and share lunch from 12.15.
• Advance notice of speaker for Tuesday 5th January 12.45-2.30 is Vic Norman who is a lecturer at Redbridge Institute on business and runs a few very succesful businesses himself. Managing your start-up on line.
• Thanks to Nicky Das from the plumbing supplies shop for speaking last week at the enterprise club. Very useful.
• Finally, the wonderful Timebank has got going now with over 60 members, and here is a great and original cartoon strip by local artist Sam Cowan on how wonderful the Timebank is!

Have a great Christmas and New Year.
