Discover & explore: Hope

The next in the current series of Discover & explore services at St Stephen Walbrook will be held tomorrow at 1.10pm. The current series of musical discovery explores themes of bereavement, faith, hope and charity with the Choral Scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields. Monday's service will be led by the Revd Sally Muggeridge and the liturgy, music, prayers and readings will all focus on the theme of Hope.

Feedback on our Discover & explore service series has included the following:
  • Perfect service of peace in our busy lives.
  • Spiritual food in the middle of the day.
  • Each part elided into the next, giving a warm whole.
  • The music was wonderful. The service was also thoughtful.
  • It was like a little jewel with a number of facets drawing us in and lighting our path.
  • Beautifully and intelligently done.
The Choral Scholars of St Martin-in-the-Fields have an essential musical role at this great church. Every year twelve scholars are appointed to sing regular services while also gaining concert experience, benefiting from an extensive training in all aspects of sacred and secular choral music.

The Choir of St Stephen Walbrook and the Choral Scholars will sing together tonight at a shared 'Lighten Our Darkness' service of contemporary Choral Evening Prayer at St Martin-in-the-Fields at 5.00pm tonight. The final 'Discover & explore' service in this series will be led by Revd Alastair McKay on Monday 22nd November, 1.10pm, and will be on the theme of Faith.
