Good to see that Philip Ritchie has joined his fellow 'Big Picture' tutors on blogspot. Previously blogging as lawnmower reflections, Philip's new blog is entitled Phil's treehouse. The name for the blog was suggested by his daughter and the picture on the header is the view from the treehouse which he began building in 2006. One of Philip's first posts on his new blog is on the wonderful Emmylou Harris album, Wrecking Ball.

Thanks for the mention Jonathan. My kids have pointed out that technically it is their treehouse! I've had the ipod playing Wrecking Ball a few times. Harris was on Later with Jools Holland along with Robert Plant. Alison Kraus & T Bone Burnette a couple of weeks ago and her voice is still achingly beautiful.
I caught the end of the Tuesday night showing of Robert Plant & Alison Krauss on Later (then forgot to watch on Friday) and think that Buddy Miller was also in the band as well as T Bone Burnett. There is a very full interview/article on Buddy Miller in the current issue of 'No Depression' (I browsed it in Borders last night). Have you also listened to the Emmylou albums that followed 'Wrecking Ball'? 'Stumble into Grace' and 'Red Dirt Girl' feature her own compositions instead of the covers that were her trademark but include some great material and her voice is, as you say, achingly beautiful.
