Church Times - Art review: Living by the Rule Contemporary Meets Medieval and other exhibitions (Sainsbury Centre, Norwich), and Benedictine Art Project (Norwich Cathedral)

My latest exhibition review for Church Times , is on 'Living by the Rule Contemporary Meets Medieval' and other exhibitions (Sainsbury Centre, Norwich), and Benedictine Art Project (Norwich Cathedral):

'SINCE 2023, the exhibition programme at the Sainsbury Centre, at the University of East Anglia, in Norwich, has been on the theme of life’s big questions. Exhibitions at the Centre have asked a range of important questions such as: “How do we adapt to a Transforming World?”, “What is truth?”, “Why do people take drugs?”, and “Can humans stop killing each other?” The latest exhibition series asks: “What is the meaning of life?”

Avoiding the answer famously given in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, this latest exhibition series, as Jago Cooper and Tania Moore (Executive Director and Head of Exhibitions respectively at the Centre) have explained, “reflects the arc of life itself, beginning with childhood notions of playful exploration — of a world where life offers boundless opportunity — and ending with questions about what exists when life is taken away”.'
